Physics, Transport, sub-scale Processes - Addressing multi-scale issues related to convective transport, vertical mixing, and wet scavenging
Chairs: Mary Barth, NSF NCAR; Karen Rosenlof, NOAA; Allison Steiner, U. Michigan
Focus: This WG addresses modeling of physics processes and subgrid-scale transport, including turbulence, convective transport, vertical mixing, wet scavenging of trace gases and aerosols in stratiform and convective clouds, production of lightning-NOx, and the chemistry that occurs in processes such as convection. WG members will contribute to the implementation plan for MUSICA, and to the development and evaluation of MUSICA parameterizations.
