Activities

Pilot Study

The Chemical Processing of Organics within Clouds (CPOC), a pilot study taking place at Whiteface Mountain Research Observatory, is taking place 11-25 August 2017. Learn more at the CPOC web site

Cloud water sampling

Participants of the workshop are receiving a sample of cloud water from Whiteface Mountain to analyze at their home institution. There are 2 samples. One from June 28-29, 2016 that was stored at 4degC, and one from September 17-18, 2016 that was frozen.

Access the Google spreadsheet (requires permission) to see a list of those participating and what they are sampling.

Box model intercomparison

A box model intercomparison exercise is being conducted to assess how well current models represent aqueous phase chemistry.

Regional model intercomparison

WRF-Chem and WRF-CMAQ simulations of northeast U.S. are being compared to assess how current state-of-the-art regional-scale models are predicting key precursors, oxidants, and products of aqueous-phase chemistry.
