TOGA GCMS

HIAPER TOGA GCMS – (NCAR Community In Situ Measurements MSI Group)

We provided mechanical engineering design and development support, stress analysis, and created certification documents for the HIAPER TOGA instrument.  The TOGA instrument was a completely new design of a full-rack mounted airborne instrument, and our group worked with Alan Hills and Eric Apel of the NCAR/MSI group to develop all required mechanical components, modifed these designs as needed, and assisted with final assembly of the components into the HIAPER GV rack.  The TOGA instrument was completed in 2010, was tested during the 2011 DC-3 test flights, and is currently used on the HIAPER Gulstream GV aircraft, as well as for other airborne and field programs.
