Olga Tweedy is an ASP Graduate Student Visitor from Johns Hopkins University. Her thesis research involves analysis of variability in the stratospheric Brewer-Dobson circulation, in particular, the mechanisms causing the large annual cycle in upwelling in the tropical lower stratosphere. During her visit, she will work with Dr. William Randel and other ACOM scientists on the analysis of several different satellite data sets to quantify observational uncertainties and make detailed comparisons between observational results and model simulations. She has so far focused on comparisons with the NASA GEOS model, but will extend her work to analysis of WACCM during her visit here.
