6C: Undergraduate internship and graduate student visitor appointment
Undergraduate internship and graduate student visitor appointment to study the transport of carbon monoxide from South American fires over the 15 year MOPITT record
In June-July, 2017, the MOPITT team hosted an undergraduate summer intern (Holden Leslie-Bole, Yale University) to study the transport of carbon monoxide from South American fires over the 15-year MOPITT record. Figure 1 shows the different patterns for upper and lower tropospheric CO distributions and transport from South America using vertical profiles of CO from MOPITT. Also in July 2017, the MOPITT team hosted a graduate student (Iris Dekker, Utrecht University, Netherlands) to collaborate on her research quantifying changes in urban carbon monoxide emissions using MOPITT data. The first study from these results was recently published (Dekker et al., 2017).
