NSF-ATC and NCAR Atmospheric Chemistry Workshop 2018

NSF-ATC and NCAR Atmospheric Chemistry Workshop

Wednesday, May 30 through Thursday, May 31, 2018

National Center for Atmospheric Research
Center Green Campus
3080 Center Green Drive, Boulder, CO

REGISTRATION DEADLINE - 18 MAY

Workshop Goals

  1. Improve communication and knowledge about atmospheric chemistry research activities being conducted by PIs and scientists supported by the NSF-Atmospheric Chemistry Program (ATC) and at NCAR..

  2. Encourage new and continued collaboration between ATC-supported PIs and NCAR scientists.

  3. Develop a widespread understanding in the community of the atmospheric chemistry activities and community facilities available at NCAR.

  4. Assess the scope and activities of projects supported by ATC and NCAR in light of the recent National Academy of Sciences report, “The Future of Atmospheric Chemistry Research,” and raise awareness about the NSF Atmospheric Chemistry Program.

Workshop Format

The workshop will be organized along four research areas.  Workshop attendees will be divided into breakout groups to facilitate discussions on all research areas.  The goal is to maximize the participation of the attendees in the discussion to provide feedback from a broad range of scientific expertise. We expect participants to be present for the duration of the workshop, which will run from 9 am to 7 pm on Wednesday (5/30) and 8:30 am to 5pm on Thursday (5/31).
