Kavitha Mottungan will work to refine the development and implementation of a new predictive capability in CESM/CAM-Chem to simulate AQ and GHG abundance, with a focus on methane, and incorporating observational constraints in a common consistent framework. The aim of the visit is to develop, implement, and improve a multi-species data analysis framework for enhancing GHG signatures from anthropogenic activities by exploiting the synergies between co-emitted species that are currently monitored by AQ and GHG modeling and observing systems.
