Atmospheric Aerosol Research @ NCAR

Welcome! Our research focuses on advancing our understanding of the origin, chemistry, evolution, and environmental impact of particulate matters in the atmosphere. We use large scale Teflon chambers, flow reactors, as well as a variety of mass spectrometry techniques to characterize the molecular properties and formation mechanisms of organic aerosols. Our results provide fundamental parameterization and representation of atmospheric aerosols in global transport models. We also work closely with the atmospheric research community, providing facility support for laboratory and field measurement capabilities.
